This R4 Gold card is manufactured from www.r4i-gold.me, differing from its R4i-Gold 3DS, R4I-GOLD V1.4.4 and R4I-GOLD RTS, called R4i-GOLD Pro. This R4 Gold chip supports Wood Kernel modified by R4I-GOLD.ME team.

Note: Do NOT use official 6.0 firmware patch to update r4 gold pro 2012 or former version, or you will get a white screen after the update, which could not be reverted.

Do decompress the official kernel into your computer firstly, then copy and paste its kernel files into your sd memory card. Or you may get a white screen on your console when booting r4 gold pro.

   No matter what kernel I download, I only get the menu? error message on my 2DS.
   Please help! What can I do to make it work?

   Sorry, r4 gold pro here is released from r4i-gold.me, and it has been out of supply for a long time.
   While for your r4 gold pro, you need to download its software from r4isdhc.com. You have used wrong software.

3. It is not working

   I installed kernal 1.72 as suggested and made a folder homebrew, for the games, but it do not work. Only white screen and not nothing. I tried several times with different sd cards but it do not work.

   Couldnt be happier.
   Extracted 1.72 firmware rar file to root of micro sd and then created a folder called games and started placing my nds files in there.
   :) Works perfectly

   This r4 gold pro 2018 version is compatible with your 3DSXL 11.4.0-37E system. Sometimes, if stuck at the system check, we usually run the chip on a dsi or ds.

   After 'Loading...' on black screen, all I get is white screen on both displays. Using the 1.72 fw. from this site.

7. No 3ds Games

   I bought this r4i gold card because I was hoping to be able to download and play 3ds roms just as I'm able to download nds roms and play but so far I've been reading around and I'm realizing it is not possible to play 3ds roms

   It works good for me, but the touch calibration on 3ds in moonshell2 is wrong and i always have to repair my FileSystem on my SD Card before Copying Files from/to my Computer...

9. Card does not work properly.

   Whenever I insert the Card it works till I try to start a game. The menu still Shows when i execute the game but I cant move the selector and the game doesn´t load. Then when I try to power off my DSI XL
   and start the program again the menu Shows with nothing to select. I hope this is enough information that you can help me. Thanks in advance.

    I already downloaded the v1.72 kernel and copied it on the SD, but the card still doesn't work. It turns white and says 'menu?'. What can i do?

    Make sure your r4 gold pro is from www.r4i-gold.me, current r4 gold pro made from www.r4isdhc.com does not work with wood kernel 1.72 above, it will show menu? error.
